Pundit Keith Treacy has assured that if Manchester City had a chance to wrap up a transfer for William Saliba, they would pass up the option to do so.
This conversation occurred on Off The Ball, stemming from the £27 million (Football.London) man having just one year left on his contract.
While many believe William Saliba is one of the best young defenders in Europe, pundit Keith Treacy firmly believes Manchester City would reject a potential transfer involving him.
Pundit Keith Treacy says Manchester City would reject William Saliba transfer
With John Stones, branded as an ‘unsung’ hero at the Etihad Stadium by Darren Fletcher joined by the likes of Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte and Manuel Akanji on their books, it would be a challenge for most defenders to break into their roster.
However, Saliba has been described as ‘world-class’ by SPORTbible and one of the Premier League’s most well-rounded centre-backs.
As brilliant as William Saliba has been for Arsenal this season, pundit Keith Treacy is convinced that Manchester City would not fancy a transfer for him.

“I think he’d be happy to stay, where does he go from there? It’s very limited people on top of Arsenal in world football at the minute. I don’t think City would be too interested, I don’t think [Real] Madrid, Barcelona, the likes would be too interested.”
The only reason why the Sky Blues could snub Saliba is due to Laporte’s future
It was reported a month ago that Aymeric Laporte was ‘frustrated’ due to a lack of playing time at City and was likely to be sold, with a previous report claiming that Josko Gvardiol was eyed as his successor.
Considering Manchester City may be on the lookout for a left-footed defender in the transfer market, perhaps pundit Keith Treacy is right when saying that they would be uninterested in a move for William Saliba.
However, based on the Frenchman’s actual quality and potential, City may even do a U-turn, if given the choice and try to sign him as he has all the makings of a superstar.
