Erling Haaland has said that the best player he has ever played with in his career is Manchester City teammate Kevin De Bruyne.
In a video shared by Football Daily, the Norwegian goalscorer was answering quickfire questions after winning the Football Writers’ Association Award, one of which involved the £54 million (Guardian) man.
It seems like despite Erling Haaland sharing an incredible relationship with Jude Bellingham on the pitch at Borussia Dortmund, he cannot look past Kevin De Bruyne.
Erling Haaland names Kevin De Bruyne as the best player he has ever played with
Not just the Englishman but the 22-year-old has played alongside some incredible players in his career, such as Marco Reus, Martin Odegaard and Jadon Sancho to name a few.
Every aforementioned attacking player also shared a fruitful relationship with the most in-form striker in the world, be it for Borussia Dortmund or for Norway.
However, it seems like Erling Haaland believes Kevin De Bruyne is in a league of his own to such top players as well.
“I think I have to say Kevin De Bruyne”, he said when quizzed about the best player he has ever played with.
Erling Haaland has never played with a creator of such high standards
It is not a surprise to see Erling Haaland name the former VFL Wolfsburg No.10, as the pair have perhaps formed the most devastating partnership in world football this season.
It almost seems like almost every time Haaland puts the ball into the back of the net, De Bruyne must have had a hand in the goal.
The Belgian playmaker is any No.9’s dream and it is no surprise to see that the former Borussia Dortmund hitman enjoys playing with him as much as he evidently does.
Kevin De Bruyne is one of the best creators of his generation and as brilliant as the likes of Jude Bellingham and Martin Odegaard may be, Jamie Carragher was right in saying the Sky Blues superstar may be the best passer he has seen in the last 30 to 40 years.
