Marco Asensio has named Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva as one player he admires in the Premier League.

Having played for Real Madrid and now Paris Saint-Germain, the Spaniard has played alongside some of Europe’s top players including Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema among others.

Now though, despite never featuring in the Premier League, the winger has picked out one player who knows what it’s like to win trophies in England as one that has caught his eye.

Speaking in a recent video shared on brfootball’s Tik Tok channel, Asensio had this to say when asked which current Premier League player he likes at the moment.

He said: “I like Bernardo Silva.”

With the 29-year-old having been linked with a move to PSG previously, it could be said that Asensio isn’t the only person at the French club who admires the City star.

Back in the 2017 summer transfer window, City paid £43m to sign the midfielder from Monaco.

Since then, the Portuguese international has made 339 appearances for the Manchester club across all competitions, scoring 63 goals and delivering 64 assists along the way.

Back in May, Asensio got a good view of just how good Silva is, as the Spaniard was on the bench when the City star scored two goals against Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League last season.

Having also been described by Pep Guardiola as one of the best players he has ever coached, this is further proof of how much of a special player Silva is.

In fact, after helping his side win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League last season, the midfielder came ninth in the 2023 Ballon d’Or rankings among some of his other City teammates.
