Enzo Maresca has been speaking about his time at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola – after a strong start to life in charge of Leicester.
The Italian sat down with The Sun to discuss his stint at the Etihad Stadium.
So, what did Enzo Maresca say about life under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the 43-year-old left his role as the Spaniard’s assistant back in June after being offered the chance to take over at the King Power Stadium.
Maresca has enjoyed a fine start to his time in the Midlands, winning four out of five Championship games so far as he picked up the EFL Championship Manager of the Month award for August.
The Foxes sit third in England’s second tier as a result.
Some may feel that Maresca had a simple job as Guardiola’s assistant when you consider the level of talent at the Etihad Stadium, but he has now shared one thing that was “difficult” about the role.

He said: “I learned last season that even though Man City have world-class players, there is so much work to do.
“You need to coach them every day. You need to teach them every day because they need to understand the way you want them to play.
“One thing I realised being there is that it’s difficult to win games and that’s something people struggle to understand. Because you are at Man City, some people can think it’s easy but it’s not.”
Enzo Maresca comments show just how talented Manchester City are
As Chelsea have shown across the past 12 months, football is not just a case of who can spend the most money on new signings.

Yes, Guardiola is fortunate to have such strong financial backing at the Etihad Stadium, but there is still plenty to do once these top talents arrive in Manchester, as Maresca states.
Hopefully, the Italian’s interview helps people realise just how remarkable a job Guardiola is doing.
