Gary Neville has now given his prediction about whether Manchester City or Manchester United will come out on top on Sunday afternoon.
The last time the two sides went toe-to-toe with each other was at Old Trafford in October where Pep Guardiola’s men won 3-0 which flattered Erik ten Hag’s side in all fairness.
However, the Premier League table is perhaps a true reflection of the gulf in class between both sides, with United sitting in sixth place, 15 points behind second-placed City.
Gary Neville makes Manchester City vs Manchester United prediction
Both United and City are coming off the back of galvanising victories in the FA Cup.
While an Erling Haaland-inspired Manchester City side tore Luton Town apart 6-2 on Tuesday, Casemiro’s 89th-minute winner against Nottingham Forest meant the Red Devils also booked their place in the quarter-finals.
But Gary Neville remains realistic in his prediction, as he sees Manchester City beating Manchester United 3-0 once again this campaign.

“I was going to say 3-1, I think probably 3-1 is probably about right.”
“I like to have United with a goal, to be fair, Carra [Jamie Carragher].”
“I don’t think I’ve ever predicted United will lose on this yet.”
“I think we’ll go for 3-0”, he said on The Overlap’s Stick To Football.
Manchester City are the overwhelming favourites
The prediction made by Gary Neville is completely fair as Manchester City look set to wipe the floor with Manchester United.
At least during Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s reign, it seemed like United could cause City problems on the break and in all fairness, they did time and time again.
However, a peek at this Manchester United side makes one wonder if they can even trouble a Manchester City side, who have been vulnerable when it comes to defending transitions at all.
In previous do-or-die fixtures when City have been in title races, they have often had to be at their brilliant best to get over the line.
Of course, Manchester United are not in a title race but even so, it seems like if logic prevails on derby day, Pep Guardiola and Co. could perhaps even put in a subpar display and walk away with three points; such is the gulf in quality between both institutions and teams in every department.
