Paul Merson has shared his prediction for Manchester City’s upcoming Premier League match against Luton Town.
Having fallen to a 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa in midweek, the Citizens are back in action on Sunday as they travel to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton.
Looking ahead to this game, one pundit has shared his thoughts on how it will go and how it could impact the race to win the Premier League title.
Merson drops Man City prediction for Luton clash

Written in his latest column for Sportskeeda where he previewed all of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, Merson had this to say about City’s match against Luton.
He said: “Manchester City are winless in four Premier League games, but I think they’ll win this one quite comfortably to put themselves back in contention for the title.”
Pep Guardiola’s side haven’t won a game in the Premier League since their 6-1 victory over Bournemouth over a month ago, drawing against Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur before Wednesday’s defeat at Villa.
Since the Bournemouth game, the Blues have conceded nine goals, which suggests that their defence has been a weak point at times across those four previous games.
Since winning promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season, Luton have lost 10 of their 15 top-flight games, winning two and drawing three, scoring 16 goals and conceding 30 along the way.
Having come close to beating Liverpool at home last month, the promoted side were very close to taking two points off Arsenal in midweek, only for a late Declan Rice winner to seal the victory for the Gunners.
With that in mind and despite Merson’s prediction that City will win, we feel that the treble winners should expect a tough game on Sunday and make sure they do all they can to win all three points and get back to winning ways after a disappointing spell of results.
