Stuart Pearce has shared his prediction for Manchester City’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Following on from their 3-2 win over RB Leipzig on Tuesday night in the Champions League, the Citizens are back in action tomorrow with a Premier League showdown against Spurs at the Etihad Stadium.

In the build-up to this game, one pundit and former City manager has shared his thoughts on how this game will go and what he thinks the outcome will be in terms of the overall result.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Pearce had this to say about tomorrow’s big game and who he thinks will come away victorious.

He said: “Man City will win, I think they’ll win 3-0 because Tottenham have got too many of their top players out and I don’t think they’ll contain Manchester City.”

With 13 league games played, City have won nine, drawn two and lost two, scoring 33 goals and conceding 13 in the process, leaving them with 29 points on the board in second place.

In comparison, Spurs have won eight of their 13 games, drawn two and lost three, finding the back of the net 25 times and conceding 17.

Having lost their three previous league games and with them having a number of important players out injured, this backs up Pearce’s point about Spurs being at a disadvantage in terms of being able to stop City from dominating the game.

In fact, with the Citizens having made more key passes (173) and having more shots on target (86) than any other team in the division this season prior to this weekend’s fixtures, this further highlights how much danger the home side could provide for Spurs tomorrow.

Moving forward, taking into account how tight things are at the top of the league table between City, Arsenal and Liverpool, a victory against Spurs is very much needed for Pep Guardiola’s side if they want to take a step closer to regaining the league title.
