Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo says he had ‘a very bad game’ for Barcelona on Saturday against Celta Vigo, despite hitting a vital last-gasp winner.
The Portuguese was making his fourth appearances for the Catalan giants since completing his loan move from the Etihad.
Prior to Sunday, Cancelo had really impressed for Barca.
The star, who had been strongly requested by manager Xavi, made an instant impression on his first appearance, and then shone on his full debut.
On Saturday, Barcelona took on Celta Vigo, and looked to be heading for a defeat.
They were 2-0 down entering the last 15 minutes, after goals from Jorgen Strand Larsen and Anastasios Douvikas.
But Robert Lewandowski hit a quick-fire brace.
And it was Cancelo who was the hero, scoring in the 89th minute for Barca for a 3-2 comeback win…
Manchester City loanee Joao Cancelo says he had a very bad game against Celta
Cancelo was ultimately a hero on Saturday.

But the 29-year-old was not particularly happy with his display in the game.
He said (as quoted by SPORT): “Personally I was having a very bad game. Technically I was making a lot of mistakes. We have to stay focused until the end. It’s important to win by playing badly, but we have to improve”
“I was lost in my head and I made a lot of technical errors, which is not normal in my game, because I made a lot of bad passes, but it’s better to play badly and win than to play well and lose. If I perform, the club will want me. If I don’t perform, they will get rid of me.”
Cancelo was partly at fault for both of Celta’s goals, having been caught out of position.
Fair play Cancelo
It’s interesting to hear Cancelo expressing his feelings about his performance publicly.
You might think that because of his vital contribution, he wouldn’t have said what he said.

The 29-year-old is clearly a perfectionist and is keen for his new supporters to know that.
Barca fans will surely not mind bad performances here and there from Cancelo if he is going to make massive contributions such as on Saturday.
