Gary Neville has said that Rodri is the most irreplaceable player at Manchester City after Erling Haaland.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the popular pundit had his say on the £63 million (Daily Mail) man.
Gary Neville has emphasised that after Erling Haaland, Rodri is the most important player Manchester City have at their disposal.
Gary Neville says Rodri is the most irreplaceable Manchester City player after Erling Haaland
Branded as ‘complete’ by Frank LeBouef, the Spanish international has been suspended for three domestic games after his rash red card against Nottingham Forest.
As a result, the treble-winner will now miss City’s upcoming fixtures against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup as well as Wolves and Arsenal in the Premier League.
Now, Gary Neville has made the point that Rodri is the player Manchester City would find it toughest to replace after Erling Haaland.

“But that definitely levels this game up in a couple of weeks, Rodri not playing because they haven’t got anybody who replaces him like-for-like.”
“But both of those [Rodri and Declan Rice], I would say, Haaland aside for City because he’s just irreplaceable. the two most important players I think are Rodri and Declan Rice for either team. And then Haaland becomes the difference player which you can’t factor…you know Arsenal haven’t got Haaland.”
Rodri is more irreplaceable than the Norwegian striker
While Gary Neville makes a fair point, one could argue that Rodri is more of an irreplaceable figure in this Manchester City side than Erling Haaland.
After all, a certain Julian Alvarez is one of the best strikers in the Premier League.
Kalvin Phillips, who is the only other natural defensive midfielder at the club is yet to convince Pep Guardiola that he should be played far more regularly.
As a result, the Sky Blues’ most irreplaceable player is undoubtedly Rodri.
