Tim Sherwood has said that according to him, Marcus Rashford has the quality to play for Manchester City.

Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, the manager-turned-pundit made this claim about the Manchester United poster-boy.

While many would perhaps disagree with Tim Sherwood, he believes Marcus Rashford certainly has the talent not to look out of place at Manchester City.

Tim Sherwood says Marcus Rashford is good enough to play for Manchester City

Coming off the back of a world-class season for United, the Englishman has been poor for his boyhood club this campaign.

The same can be said about a majority of, if not every Manchester United player but especially a marquee name like the 26-year-old.

However, Tim Sherwood still believes Marcus Rashford has the quality to play for Manchester City.

“In my opinion, Marcus Rashford is good enough to play for Manchester City but having watched him for Manchester United over the past few months, I’d be called crazy for that”, he said.

Tim Sherwood also believes Pep Guardiola would take Marcus Rashford with open arms at Manchester City, saying, “I believe that he is good enough to play for City and that Pep [Guardiola] would take him.”

Sherwood continued, “He gets some criticism for not tracking back but if he’s not getting the ball when he’s forward, not getting the sweets, why would he be willing to do that?”

“But if you keep giving him the ball in the correct areas, then he’ll put a shift in for the team and I think Pep Guardiola would make sure he runs back because there’s not one player in Man City’s side who doesn’t run back.”

Marcus Rashford would become a superstar under Pep Guardiola

Tim Sherwood certainly has a point as while Marcus Rashford would be in need of Pep Guardiola’s guidance, he would become unplayable at Manchester City over time.

As the Wythenshawe-born winger has showcased in the past, he has all the raw attributes in his locker to perform at elite levels.

However, the instability at Manchester United in every sense of the word has not particularly aided his development.

In a stable environment like Manchester City’s where Pep Guardiola would drill him with fundamentals about the game, Marcus Rashford would become the most complete version of himself.
