Alan Shearer has said that he would have been furious if he was Erling Haaland if Pep Guardiola had publicly scolded him like he did.
The Catalan’s behaviour during his argument with the £51 million (Metro) man at half-time against Burnley has not gone down well with many, with Garth Crooks believing he acted in an arrogant manner.
Now, Alan Shearer has also said on The Rest Is Football podcast that he would have been fuming if he was Erling Haaland and Pep Guardiola told him off the way he did.
Alan Shearer says he would have been ‘raging’ at Pep Guardiola if he was Erling Haaland
Initially, the Norwegian megastar was telling Bernardo Silva off at the half-time interval for not playing him through on goal right at the death.
In the aftermath of the contest, Guardiola confirmed (via Manchester Evening News) that he was telling Haaland that Silva was right not to do so as it would have led to a dangerous transition.
However, Alan Shearer believes that if he was Erling Haaland, he would not have taken kindly to the Pep Guardiola onslaught whatsoever.

“I didn’t like what Pep did on Friday evening. You say whatever you want to me in the dressing room. Have a pop at me, shout at me, scream at me, call me whatever you want, tell me whatever I’ve done wrong. But in the dressing room in front of the lads.”
Alan Shearer elaborated on why he believes Pep Guardiola was in the wrong when it came to dealing with Erling Haaland.
“Don’t come over and grab my arm, and pull me back in front of the crowd when it’s 30,000 [fans] there. And then he pushes the camera away as if to say, ‘get away.’ Well, he knows the cameras are on him. He knows the cameras are going to be on him. He’s done it for a reason.”
“But I wouldn’t have liked that at all. I would’ve told him to let it go. Honestly, I’d have been raging at that myself.”
It seems like Alan Shearer, as has been the case with a number of pundits have misinterpreted the situation completely and are blowing it right out of proportion in what was a mere argument between Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland.
