Joe Cole believes that if Jack Grealish adds goals to his game, he will hit new heights.
The pundit told Channel 4 (20/11/2023) after the contest despite Grealish’s equaliser being ruled out, with England eventually drawing 1-1 to North Macedonia on Monday night.
Even last season, while the Manchester City attacker was brilliant, he scored just five goals in all competitions.
Joe Cole says “outstanding” Jack Grealish could reach the next level if he starts scoring goals
Pep Guardiola has said that recently, the £300,000-a-week (Sport Rac) man has been impressive in a Manchester City shirt.
Against North Macedonia as well, the former Aston Villa captain was one of the Three Lions’ few bright sparks.
Joe Cole initially gave his views on the decision to disallow the tap-in from Jack Grealish before emphasising how scoring goals on a more frequent basis could elevate his game.

“I don’t know what was going on in the VAR room but this is good from Jack”, Cole told Channel 4.
“This is what I want to see more of from Jack. I thought he was outstanding tonight as well. He drove the game and got us up the pitch. If he can add that [scoring] to his game, as well as the other qualities he has got, it will take him to another level.”
Jack Grealish could do that by working on his off-the-ball movement
Joe Cole makes a fair point but Jack Grealish could argue by saying that scoring goals in this Manchester City side for him is easier said than done.
After all, the 28-year-old is tasked to hug the touchline and provide width.
But when given the chance, Grealish must find ways to run in behind defences to get closer to goal.
Or as was the case for his disallowed goal for England, Jack Grealish should try to position himself inside the box to feed on scraps.
If he manages to do that, the goals will come automatically.
