Roy Keane has predicted which team will come out on top in the potentially pulsating affair between Manchester City and Arsenal.

Gabby Agbonlahor backed City to leave the Etihad Stadium with three points in the bag and a 2-1 win, while also tipping Erling Haaland to score the winner.

As for Chris Sutton, he reckons the Sky Blues will defeat Arsenal 1-0 on Sunday, taking into account how decisive they tend to be at home.

It seems like neutrals think Pep Guardiola’s men could vanquish Mikel Arteta’s side, being at the Etihad Stadium while perhaps still being the best team in Europe.

With City winning the Champions League as well last season, this group of players in particular seem to embrace the biggest moments.

The treble-winners have a team full of serial winners who will be determined to get over the line against the Gunners.

Ian Wright initially backed Arsenal to get the job done against the reigning champions of England.

“We’re beating them. You know why I’m saying, we have to beat them!”, he said on The Overlap’s Stick To Football.

However, Roy Keane disagreed with Ian Wright as he backed Manchester City to beat Arsenal 2-1 in the upcoming contest.

“Doesn’t mean you’re going to win”, Keane replied.

The popular pundit continued, “Arsenal are not winning there.”

“I’m going 2-1 City.”

Ian Wright said, “Your confidence in 2-1 is too confident. It’s like you’re totally negating Arsenal’s form at the moment and what we’re going to do.”

Keane emphasised, “I’m not!”

Wright said, “We have to beat them! So, they’ve got to go for it.”

The Manchester United legend concluded, “Arsenal are not winning there. You’re getting kidded, I’m telling you.”

Manchester City should back themselves to beat the Gunners

If Manchester City are as confident in themselves beating Arsenal as Roy Keane is in them, their mentality heading into the game would be flawless.

While respecting the quality that the visitors possess, City should back themselves to come out victorious.

Having yet to lose at the Etihad Stadium since their 2-1 defeat to Brentford before the 2022 World Cup while also having more experience than Arsenal in their ranks, the champions of Europe have every reason to be brimming with confidence.

The first and perhaps most key battle will be won by the team that approaches the game with utmost self-belief and Manchester City should be that side based on the evidence on display.
