Man City striker Erling Haaland has expressed his frustration after his gilt-edged misses against Leeds United.
The Norwegian hitman still managed to register a brace at Elland Road.
For his opener, the 22-year-old had an empty net to aim towards after getting on the end of a brilliant assist from Jack Grealish.
However, the second goal was an insight into Haaland’s scary finishing as his weak-footed strike to put City into a 3-0 lead was merciless.
But it has to be said that Erling Haaland had plenty of misses on a surprisingly mixed night for him against Leeds.
Right at the start of the game, the youngster could not dink the ball past Illan Meslier to hand the Sky Blues an early lead.
Later, an impeccable Kevin De Bruyne through ball was also bizarrely not converted by the in-form goalscorer, who fluffed his lines.
The same goes for another one-on-one chance he was handed after Rodri split the Leeds backline late into the 2nd half.
It is Haaland’s uncharacteristic wastefulness in front of goal that landed him just an 8/10 rating in our post-match player ratings.
Man City ace Erling Haaland expresses disappointment after misses against Leeds
Man City talisman Erling Haaland did not hide his disappointment after his misses against Leeds United, despite bagging a well-taken brace.
“I’m so upset, so upset”, he told Amazon Prime Video Sport.
Haaland continued, “I just said it inside, I could’ve scored five [goals vs Leeds]. But that’s life, what can I do? I have to practice more.”
An insight into Haaland’s killer mentality
A number of strikers would be content at scoring a brace, despite a boatload of misses also defining their outing.
But not every striker is Erling Haaland, who was clearly regretful at not tucking away his chances for Man City against Jesse Marsch’s side.
The Leeds-born goalscorer emphasised how he needs to further hone his craft, which just highlights the man’s burning desire for perfection.
