Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has the chance to form a new dynamic duo in his side if he brings in another midfielder this summer.
Last month, after announcing the departure of Ilkay Gundogan, the Manchester club revealed they had secured a £30m deal for Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea.
Should Guardiola feel the need to freshen up his midfield further before the summer transfer window closes, one player that the Citizens have been linked with recently that could help in that department and give the Spaniard the chance to form an exciting new partnership is Gabri Veiga.

Last season saw the 21-year-old score 11 goals and deliver four assists in 36 La Liga appearances, which shows how much of a useful and effective attacking figure he can be in the middle of the pitch.
Then with Kovacic, he managed to end his previous Premier League campaign in west London with the third-highest number of shot-creating actions (62) in the Chelsea squad.
This suggests that the new City midfielder has the ability to set up someone like Veiga with plenty of goalscoring opportunities.
Having previously caught the attention of Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, who described the Celta Vigo star as someone who has significant quality, this further highlights how much of an exciting player he is and why he could be a top signing for the European champions.
Moving forward, with the Spaniard apparently having a release clause in his contract worth €40m (£34m), triggering this is definitely something the Manchester club should consider doing so they can add him to their squad.
