‘Incredible’ £41m City player spotted training ahead of Burnley clash after Community Shield absence

Manchester City defender Nathan Ake has been spotted training ahead of the game with Burnley on Friday.

Pep Guardiola’s side kick off the new Premier League season at Turf Moor.

They are looking to swiftly move on from the defeat to Arsenal in Sunday’s Community Shield.

And it’s a clash with former captain Vincent Kompany to start with – and it should be a fantastic game.

Kompany has done wonders so far with the Clarets.

And it could be a stern test for City.

It will be very interesting to see that first teamsheet from Pep – and to see who will be featuring on the left of the defence.

New signing Josko Gvardiol will be in contention.

But one star who missed out against Arsenal has been training ahead of the game.

It was reported that he missed out through injury.

The Dutchman had recently limped out of the game with Bayern Munich in Japan.

He then did not feature in the game against Atletico Madrid in Seoul.

But thankfully, Ake has been pictured back in training ahead of the game with Burnley. The official City website captioned one photo as ‘Nathan Ake : Our Dutch defender looking sharp…’

Boost for Man City as Ake trains – Pep may start him vs Burnley

It is great to see Ake training ahead of the Burnley game.

He looks to be an option to play, which is good news.

£41 million star Ake was brilliant for City all throughout 2022/23 and has become an outstanding defender. By all accounts he’s a brilliant persona too, with sporting director Txiki Begiristain recently branding him ‘an incredible human being’.

Gvardiol has now signed for City at last.

But it would be nice to see Pep be loyal to Ake and start him against Burnley if he is good to go.

The former Chelsea and Bournemouth man really deserves to begin the new season as a starter for what he did last term.
