Tim Sherwood was a fan of the delightful finish from Bernardo Silva to put Manchester City into the lead against Copenhagen.

After Kevin De Bruyne’s early opener, a misplaced Ederson pass eventually led to Magnus Mattson levelling proceedings in the 34th minute.

But just 11 minutes later, Bernardo Silva exhibited his wondrous technique by flicking the ball past Kamil Grabara to give his side a 2-1 lead at the time.

Tim Sherwood praises “incredible” Bernardo Silva finish as Manchester City beat Copenhagen 3-1

It took until the 92nd minute for Phil Foden to add to the visitors’ tally at the Parken Stadium on Tuesday night.

But Tim Sherwood was blown away by the finish from Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva against Copenhagen.

“Bernardo Silva in the blink of an eye. That’s what happens. It’s just an incredible finish. An incredible finish, this is. This is scruffy for them. Ricochets to him and he flicks it, he’s right at the goal, it’s a tight angle, [the] goalkeeper doesn’t expect the shot, he just flicks it, quick with the outside of his left foot”, he said on Sky Sports.

“What a finish that is!”

Not many players in world football could have pulled off that Bernardo Silva finish

Tim Sherwood was understandably mesmerised by the gorgeous piece of skill from Bernardo Silva, as he stepped up big-time for Manchester City once again during their 3-1 victory against Copenhagen.

In our view, the tremendous finish from the £43 million (The Telegraph) man is one that not many players in world football would be able to execute.

For starters, it is not just the quality of the strike that makes the 29-year-old’s goal such a challenge to pull off.

But to have anticipated where the ball would land for an outside-the-boot finish to be deemed appropriate is a thought that only the most intelligent players in the world would consider a natural reaction to such a situation.

To then adjust one’s body and flick the ball past the opposition goalkeeper demands a level of technique that only a minute percentage of footballers possess.

Bernardo Silva, however, belongs to that rare breed of players in the world and could perhaps pull off that finish if asked to once again.
