Manchester City are set welcome back Bernardo Silva and John Stones, with the pair having returned to training this morning.

City have had a tricky start to the new season on the injuries front.

Pep Guardiola has been working with a fairly small squad for the past few weeks, and has done pretty well considering.

But City have lost their last two games now, and it will be important to get back to winning ways on Wednesday in the Champions League against RB Leipzig.

And it’s possible Bernardo and Stones could be getting minutes…

Manchester City duo Bernardo Silva and John Stones have returned to training

According to MEN journalist Simon Bajkowski, both Bernardo and Stones were with the group this morning for training.

It is a huge boost for Pep Guardiola, with both players absolutely key.

Stones has not featured so far this season for City.

And Bernardo had to go off midway through City’s last Champions League game with Red Star Belgrade. His substitution caused confusion initially as he didn’t appear to be showing discomfort.

It remains to be seen if either of them get minutes on Wednesday.

It is perhaps unlikely that they will start given they’ll be lacking match sharpness and City need to win.

Big news for City

Pep had hinted at the weekend that both players were close to returning.

And news that they have now resumed training will definitely please the masses.

The return of £50 million star Stones is especially nice since he hasn’t played a single minute this season.

He is an incredible player, and Pep will surely be keen to get him back into the starting XI.
