Manchester City take on Sheffield United in the Premier League – and defender John Egan has been speaking about Erling Haaland.

City are looking to make it three wins from three, after beating Burnley and Newcastle United.

Pep Guardiola will not be present for the game, as he recuperates for his back surgery.

But he will be in constant communication with his number two Juanma Lillo.

City will be looking to build on the great performance against Newcastle, and Haaland will be seeking to get back on the scoresheet after failing to do so against the Magpies, despite having plenty of good chances.

And Blades defender Egan is really looking forward to the battle with the Norwegian…

Egan has been speaking about the clash, and while he is looking forward to the battle with Haaland, the Irish defender also has huge admiration for what Haaland has achieved so far in his career.

He said (Sheffield Star): “You know from looking at yourself, he [Haaland] is quality. His goal record is insane and you have to be on it 100 percent because these guys can punish you at any minute.

“You have to concentrate as a team from the first whistle to the last. His all-round game is unbelievable and that’s why he has the goals he has. We’ve been doing work all week in training to see what our game-plan is and work on it.”

Haaland will hope to score after off day against Newcastle

It will be interesting to watch £51 million superstar Haaland go up against the Sheffield United defenders, who will probably be raising their games even more than usual to try and keep him in check.

They won’t want to give him anything. So it’s on Haaland to try and find an opening. And it’s on the other City players to pick him out.

He had several great chances against Newcastle and Phil Foden probably came away from that game wondering how he only came away with one assist on the night.

Hopefully, we will see him back in deadly form again tomorrow.
