Micah Richards has said that Chelsea poster-boy Cole Palmer made the correct call by leaving Manchester City this summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the popular pundit made this claim after the £42.5 million (Daily Mail) man punished City by bagging a 95th-minute penalty against them to secure a 4-4 draw for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Micah Richards says Chelsea wizard Cole Palmer is proving why he made the right choice by leaving Manchester City
As the Englishman produced a sparkling display against the treble-winners, even Jamie Carragher lauded his performances since joining the Blues.
Notably, Pep Guardiola revealed that he offered the 21-year-old the chance to contend for a spot on the right wing this season after Riyad Mahrez’s exit.
However, the Catalan added that Cole Palmer was insistent on leaving Manchester City, with Micah Richards saying he made the right decision by signing for Chelsea.

“That man, Cole Palmer. Was it the right move for him? It certainly was because he was outstanding today. Showing his worth for £45 million”, Richards told Sky Sports after the pulsating contest on Sunday.
Cole Palmer could have benefited in the long run by staying at the Etihad Stadium
Micah Richards is bang on the money when emphasising how terrific former Manchester City winger Cole Palmer has been since becoming a Chelsea player.
While the youngster is developing rapidly and has also become a regular starter, it is worth questioning whether staying at City would have aided him in the long term.
For starters, Palmer would continue to have learned his craft under Guardiola, who already seems to have coached him into a potentially world-class player.
If the Wythenshawe-born technician continued to repay the Spaniard’s faith, he would likely have become Manchester City’s right winger for the next decade.
In addition, Cole Palmer would also have had the chance to become a vital cog in his boyhood club’s potential triumphs going forward.
With Pep Guardiola contracted to the club until 2025, his side is expected to reign at the top and the Chelsea attacker could have been central to their success.
