Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard, has revealed he couldn’t stomach seeing any of Manchester City’s recent title celebrations.
The Norwegian saw his side battle for the Premier League trophy last season, only to then fall away in the final weeks of the campaign, which ultimately saw City pick up their fifth title in six years.
Having then gone on to see Pep Guardiola’s side win the FA Cup and the Champions League, the Arsenal star has shared his thoughts on the recent success the Citizens have had and their celebrations.
Odegaard says he avoided City’s celebrations

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, the midfielder said this on the matter.
He said: “I’ve tried not to see so much of that stuff there, because it still stings. I try not to think too much about it. Even though we delivered a very good season for a long time, I am left with a sour feeling.”

Bearing in mind how Mikel Arteta’s side spent the majority of their previous league campaign at the top of the table, to then drop points against the likes of City, Liverpool, West Ham United, Southampton and Brighton & Hove Albion in the final months of the season, it’s easy to see why Odegaard still feels down about it.
However, with the 24-year-old, who Arsenal paid an initial fee of £30m to sign permanently from Real Madrid back in 2021, finishing the campaign with the joint-highest number of league goals (15) at the north London club, he did his bit to get the Gunners in a title race.
Moving forward, it could be presumed that the saltiness and disappointment the midfielder is feeling may help him and his side put up another fight next season in terms of trying to take the title away from City.
