Micah Hamilton has revealed that he is inspired by Manchester City teammate Rico Lewis.
The youngster said that he has taken inspiration from Lewis while speaking to the club (via their official website), as he has become a regular figure in the Sky Blues’ senior set-up.
The versatile defender has started four games in the Premier League, five in the Champions League and one apiece in the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup for Manchester City this season.
Micah Hamilton says he is inspired by Rico Lewis
Pep Guardiola also gave Rico Lewis the chance to start proceedings against Arsenal in their 1-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium in October.
Phil Foden also admitted that his countryman is much more “alert and aware of his surroundings” than he was at 19 years of age.
Micah Hamilton initially claimed that he is learning from Rico Lewis, saying, “And when you train with the first-team, you improve every single day. They make you feel so comfortable and welcome. All the guys have been really helpful and it’s great to have Oscar [Bobb] and Rico [Lewis] to speak to as I know both of them well and it’s great to be able to learn from them and to have shared the big stage with them.”

“Seeing their progress is inspiring for us all in the academy, especially Rico’s situation because I’ve been here at the club with Rico since he was really small. I grew up with him right through the age groups from the age of four or five onwards”, he told the club (via their official website).
“So, to see him playing in the first team regularly, it’s crazy to see…it’s just mad.”
Rico Lewis could develop into a leader
With Rico Lewis expected to continue to grow in stature as a first-team player at Manchester City, he is likely to be looked up to by other emerging youngsters like Micah Hamilton.
Having started across various competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side, the Englishman could drill into the emerging talents about what it takes to become a consistent member of one of, if not the best team in the world.
As Rico Lewis continues to impart his wisdom to other young players in the future, his leadership qualities would emerge, which would only benefit Manchester City as it would improve him as a player and as a leader.
Lewis must be a source of inspiration for not just the young prospects at City but across academies in England, seeing how he has managed to carve out such an impressive career at his age.
