Jack Grealish refers to Kevin De Bruyne as “the GOAT [greatest of all time]” after Manchester City defeated Newcastle United on Saturday.
As De Bruyne sent viewers into a frenzy throughout the world by being City’s saviour against the Magpies as a substitute, Grealish also expressed how gobsmacked he was at his teammate’s magnificence on his Instagram story.
With Manchester City eventually beating Newcastle United 3-2 from two goals down, Eddie Howe also tipped his hat to the treble-winner, who he described as a “world-class player.”

In May last year, Jack Grealish hailed the Belgian as his “idol” for several years during his time at Aston Villa during an interview with Match Attax (via YouTube).
The Englishman admitted that he used to try to “pinch” aspects of the £54 million (Guardian) man’s game and incorporate them into his performances, while also saying that he is the best player he has ever played with in his career.
After Kevin De Bruyne led Manchester City to an inspired comeback against Newcastle United, Jack Grealish reacted to his heroics on his Instagram story.
“Honestly… never seen anything like it in my life. The GOAT”, he said about De Bruyne.
While one cannot confirm whether Jack Grealish believes his Manchester City teammate is the greatest in which sense, whether that be as a midfielder in the Premier League era or in terms of the club’s best-ever players, it is clear to see how much he respects the Belgian.
Considering Grealish is also a natural attacking midfielder in the same vein as the five-time Premier League winner, he perhaps understands better than most how outstanding a player he truly is.
As a result, the former Aston Villa captain looks like he has admired Kevin De Bruyne for years and playing with him at Manchester City, his fandom towards his game must have reached another level.
