Jack Grealish spoke for many Manchester City fans, as he reacted to a Phil Foden-inspired 3-1 win over Manchester United.

City closed the gap back down to just one point at the top of the Premier League, with Foden shining bright once again at the Etihad Stadium.

Erling Haaland – after an horrendous miss just before half-time – then wrapped up the game with a goal in injury-time.

It was a deserved win for City, who showed good character to come from behind after a goal by Marcus Rashford against the run of play early in the first-half.

Foden’s contributions today were absolutely brilliant – and injured star Jack Grealish was quick to react on social media…

Sadly for Grealish, he could not feature in today’s derby match with Manchester United.

The winger went off injured in the FA Cup game with Luton Town in midweek and is facing another spell on the sidelines.

He couldn’t feature, but Grealish was as invested as any of us in today’s game – and he was also as impressed as most of us with Foden.

He took to his Instagram Story at full-time to say: “Unreal!! What a performance @philfoden.”

Foden took his tally to 18 goals for the season, making this his best-scoring season ever for City. He is now just two shy of the 20-goal mark that Danny Murphy recently predicted he would surpass.

Foden a big-game player for Man City

What a display this was from Foden, who continues to dazzle for City in whatever position he is asked to play.

Some felt he might lose prominence following the return of Kevin De Bruyne.

But if anything, Foden is just getting better and better for City, and he is now most definitely a big-game player for Pep Guardiola.

He just looks capable of making something happen at any given time, and City fans are absolutely loving what he is bringing bring to the table.

The scary thing is that this is a player who is still some three or four years away from the start of his peak.
