Jack Grealish poked fun at Bernardo Silva after Manchester City made light work of Newcastle United to reach the FA Cup semi-final.
The midfield maestro was caught chuckling by cameras for both of his goals as they struck Dan Burn and Sven Botman respectively, handing him quite a fortuitous brace in City’s 2-0 win on Saturday.
With the kind of player Bernardo Silva is, however, he did not need to be on the score sheet to put in a top-notch showing.

For the former AS Monaco technician’s opening goal, his attempted cross struck Newcastle left-back Dan Burn’s back leg and flew into the back of the net.

As for the Portuguese international’s second strike, while he actually tried to take a shot, the ball took a significant deflection off Sven Botman’s head and crept under a diving Martin Dubravka.
After the contest, Jack Grealish took to his Instagram story to poke a lighthearted joke about the nature of the brace from his Manchester City teammate Bernardo Silva against Newcastle United.
“They were not his goals. They were own goals”, Grealish captioned his story with Silva positing with two fingers up to the camera, revelling in the fact that he got on the scoresheet twice.
Jack Grealish and the Portuguese midfielder have always had a brilliant dynamic
Ultimately, Manchester City match-winner Bernardo Silva will not mind the banter from Jack Grealish after his heroics against Newcastle as the pair seems extremely close.
Earlier this year, Grealish revealed that Bernardo was the funniest player in the City dressing room.
The five-time Premier League winner also showed support for the Englishman after his winner in his side’s 2-1 victory against Luton Town, describing him as “the bagsman.”
In December 2022, Bernardo Silva backed Jack Grealish to come good during his difficult first season at Manchester City and described him as a “great guy.”
The pair clearly have brilliant chemistry and such lighthearted banter from Grealish after the Sky Blues’ FA Cup win was an example of that.
