Jack Grealish has referred to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as the “best manager in the world.”

Speaking to Sky Sports (10/12/2023) after City beat Luton Town 2-1 on Sunday, Grealish also spoke about his side’s performance and touched on how many have discussed their recent run of results as if they were in crisis.

Nathan Ake also once mentioned that due to how the £378,846-a-week man deals with the human side of football, he is the best coach he has ever worked with in his career.

Even Manchester United legend and popular pundit, Roy Keane recently admitted that if given the choice, he would rather have worked with the Catalan than Jurgen Klopp.

Now, Jack Grealish has also lauded Pep Guardiola but initially, he spoke about his side’s recent games and their display against Luton Town.

“I think a lot of people like to talk about City and go on like it’s a big crisis, in reality, we’ve played against very good teams”, the Manchester City technician told Sky Sports.

“Spurs who’ve been unbelievable, Liverpool who are top of the league, Chelsea and [Aston] Villa away, who’ve got one of the best records in Europe. We’ve played brilliant teams. It’s not the end of the world. We knew we had to keep calm today and [I’m] buzzing to get back to winning ways.”

“We needed a lot of patience. We dominated the first half. I can’t remember them having too many chances and then they got the goal at the end of the first half, which was a blow for us. We came out in the second half and we spoke between each other, to move the ball better and not rush things. That’s what we did in the second half.”

Jack Grealish went on to give Pep Guardiola the ultimate compliment, saying, “We have the best manager in the world and world-class players. They’ve dealt with a lot in their careers. We have a lot of experienced players. Fair play to Luton, they’re a really good team. At this ground, it is difficult. Luckily, we got the job done.”

Pep Guardiola merits such praise at all times because of his long list of doubters

Jack Grealish has hailed Pep Guardiola in a manner that many do, seeing how successful he has been at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

But, ever since the start of his managerial career, the 52-year-old has had his fair share of sceptics.

It seems like even to this day, Guardiola’s critics believe that his success is simply down to the solid foundation at the clubs he joins and their spending power.

The truth is that Pep Guardiola is a master tactician and continues to evolve with the times while managing to keep squads packed with elite players motivated to win at all times.

But sadly, many fail to recognise his greatness, unlike Jack Grealish, who has had the pleasure of working alongside the Manchester City legend since 2021.
