Jack Grealish sends four-word message to Aymeric Laporte after Spain beat England 2-1 in Euro 2024 final

Jack Grealish would have gutted to witness England lose 2-1 to Spain in the final of Euro 2024.

Despite having missed out on the 26-man squad for the tournament, as an Englishman and a teammate of a bulk of the current Three Lions squad, Grealish would have been hoping for his nation to triumph.

Instead, the £100 million man had no choice but to witness Rodri win the Player of the Tournament award.

Grealish would also have witnessed a former Manchester City teammate, Aymeric Laporte win the European Championship.

Jack Grealish raves about Aymeric Laporte after Spain beat England

The pair played in tandem at the Etihad Stadium for two seasons.

Grealish and Laporte won plenty of trophies during their time at Manchester City; two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one Champions League trophy.

During their second season as teammates at the club, Pep Guardiola led the side to a treble-winning campaign.

As Laporte celebrated Spain being crowned the winners of the 2024 European Championship after their late victory against England on Instagram, Grealish commented twice on his post.

The 28-year-old commented: “What a player” and “Wow.”

Fair play to Jack Grealish for hailing Aymeric Laporte despite England losing to Spain

Considering Grealish trained and played alongside Laporte, he would have been happy for his former teammate.

As an Englishman, the former Aston Villa captain would justifiably have been disappointed but even so, he put his feelings to one aside to praise the Al-Nassr defender.

Spain were the far better side on the day and they have won all seven of their games on their way to winning Euro 2024.

Laporte certainly played a major role in his country’s success by being a rock at the back.

The 30-year-old deserves all the praise in the world and Grealish evidently has no qualms in congratulating his ex-teammate.
