Jamie Carragher thinks that one of Manchester City’s players should have stopped Wolves from scoring in the first half of Sunday’s game.
City conceded after just seven minutes as Nelson Semedo’s excellent cross found Jorgen Strand Larsen for a simple finish.
It was an impressive counter-attacking goal from Wolves’ perspective but Pep Guardiola’s side could perhaps have done more.
Carragher pointed the finger at one City player in particular and suggested a strange reason for his mistake.

Jamie Carragher blames Man City defender for Wolves goal
Some might say that Semedo’s cross was so good that City could do nothing about it, but Carragher does not share that sentiment.
“I think Ruben Dias can cut that out. He sort of drags his leg along the floor,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.
The Liverpool legend went on to say that Dias might have had something on his mind that did not help the situation.
“If you go back to last season, he scored an own goal in this fixture. I don’t know whether there is a little seed in his head as that ball comes across.
“As a centre-back, he’s got to cut that out. But it’s a fantastic goal. You just see Ruben Dias there, he’s in a decent position. I think he can stretch and cut that out.”
Carragher’s criticism seems harsh as Dias would have been taking a significant risk had he tried to intercept the cross.

Josko Gvardiol and John Stones gave Man City the win
Thankfully for City, Josko Gvardiol scored 26 minutes after Larsen put the home side in front.
The Croatia international cut inside onto his weaker right foot and curled his shot into the top corner from outside the box.
It was an incredible finish that gave Guardiola’s side a real chance of going on to get all three points.
But the 2023/24 Premier League champions struggled to break down Wolves’ defence again until John Stones scored a last-minute winner to send them to the top of the table.
