The winner of the 2024/2025 Premier League season will be predicted by fans and pundits alike across the world as the new campaign is on the horizon.

After a summer where the European Championship, Copa America and the 2024 Paris Olympics took precedence across world football, the Premier League is set to make its much-awaited return on Friday.

Manchester United will host Fulham at Old Trafford ahead of a weekend where Manchester City will kick off their league title off by facing Chelsea on Sunday.

As for Arsenal, they will go toe-to-toe with Wolves on Saturday.

Both teams will be hoping to put three points on the board, first and foremost to kickstart their respective campaigns on a positive note.

However, the bigger picture remains which team will eventually come out on top in the Premier League title race.

Carragher explains why Man City will beat Arsenal to Premier League title again

Pep Guardiola’s side gave an indication of the sheer quality they have by managing to beat Manchester United in the FA Community Shield despite fielding several of their youngsters.

But in May, Kyle Walker admitted about Arsenal that either they need to slightly decline as a team or City must up their standards as a team to ensure they continue to beat them in title races.

Bernardo Silva claimed the Gunners will continue to fight with the Sky Blues for the league crown.

It seems like City are well aware of the threat that Mikel Arteta’s side pose to their dominance.

However, Jamie Carragher still feels Manchester City will beat Arsenal to another Premier League title due to having a superior attack.

Carragher told FourFourTwo: “I can only see Arsenal or City really.”

“I know people are talking about Arsenal because they’ve gone close twice and they’re really close to making that next step but I still look at Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva and I think that is still better than what Arsenal have got.”

“I think Arsenal are one attacking player short. They’ve got Bukayo Saka but the other two in terms of Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard, I think they need one more who’s pretty special to take over from Manchester City.”

Man City have far more X-factor than Arsenal

It is difficult to disagree with Jamie Carragher as Manchester City have far more X-factor in their attack than Arsenal.

The Gunners have a lot of quality in players like Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli to name a few.

However, the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland are arguably two of the biggest difference-makers in world football while Phil Foden was arguably the best player in the league last season.

City have attackers who are not just undeniably world-class but they can turn any game on its head; a quality Arsenal perhaps do not have as much and as Carragher claimed, unless they sign another attacker, it is tough to bank on them over the Premier League winners in the title race.
