Jamie Carragher has now made a claim about Jeremy Doku ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash between Manchester City and Liverpool.
The 45-year-old previewed the game for the Telegraph.
So, what did Jamie Carragher write about Jeremy Doku? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Sky Sports pundit believes the £50,000-a-week man will love being isolated against Trent Alexander-Arnold at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Carragher wrote: “When Ibrahima Konate plays at centre-back, Klopp has someone with the pace to cover Alexander-Arnold’s midfield positioning, but it remains an imperfect solution. Liverpool’s away form so far is poor, in stark contrast to their 100% Anfield record.
“Guardiola will be zoning in on this. It is no coincidence that Grealish enjoyed one of his best games in a Manchester City shirt against Liverpool in April, relishing the space and time he was afforded on the left as he got the better of Alexander-Arnold in one-to-one duels. Doku, meanwhile, is one of the Premier League’s in-form players and will love being isolated against the full-back.”

The Belgium international broke a Premier League record in his last Premier League appearance at the Etihad Stadium, becoming the youngest footballer to ever record five goal involvements in a single Premier League fixture.
Therefore, Doku will come into this clash with plenty of confidence – if Guardiola names the Belgian in the starting XI.
Guardiola may opt for Grealish over Doku at Manchester City
In our view, Guardiola may prefer the control Jack Grealish brings to Manchester City over the explosiveness of Doku against Liverpool.
The Manchester City No.11’s style of play puts the ball at risk – Liverpool are one of the best counter attacking sides around with the pace of Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez on the break, so Guardiola will not want to concede possession too often.

Alan Pardew also thinks the Spaniard will start Grealish for this exact reason, as the 52-year-old did in the Manchester derby in October.
Whoever Guardiola decides to start, there should be plenty of space to exploit due to Alexander-Arnold’s unique position.
