Manchester City recorded a narrow 2-1 win over Sheffield United on Sunday – with Erling Haaland grabbing his third goal of the season.

The Norwegian striker endured a pretty tough afternoon at Bramall Lane.

The star spent the afternoon embroiled in a real physical battle with the Blades defenders.

He missed a penalty in the first-half and his frustrations at half-time were noted by Sky commentator Andy Hinchcliffe, who said he looked angry.

That anger would ultimately help him to score in the second-half.

You could see on Haaland’s face during his celebration that he was relieved, after missing several chances.

That summed up the relief he felt to still score despite a tough day at Bramall Lane.

And there was a comment left by John Stones which summed up Haaland pretty perfectly.

The currently injured England international wrote ‘Inevitable really!’

Haaland’s tally of three goals in three Premier League games means he has so far matched what he did last season.

In his fourth game in 2022/23 though, he scored a hat-trick.

So he’ll need to bring along his shooting boots against Fulham if he is to match that rate.

Haaland is one of the most inevitable players on the planet

Stones is spot on.

Haaland is just so inevitable when it comes to scoring goals.

Sheffield United did a great job on the number nine on Sunday, with the centre-halves doing all they could to put him off his game.

They man-handled the £51 million superstar and paid him special attention.

But in the end it was not enough.

That is what is so admirable about Haaland. He has an insatiable appetite for scoring goals.

He is relentless, and is the best in the world at what he does.
