Jorge Mendes says Barcelona want to sign Joao Cancelo permanently
The £60 million (BBC Sport) man has started 15 games for the Spanish side out of 21 games in La Liga, which goes to show that he has become a key cog in the side already.
The Portuguese international has been used at both right-back and left-back by Xavi, as he has managed to showcase his class in both positions, as he used to under Pep Guardiola’s guidance.
Now, Jorge Mendes has confirmed that Barcelona aim to sign Joao Cancelo from Manchester City permanently.

“Barcelona want to keep both Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo beyond this season, they want to make the deals permanent”, he told Record (via Fabrizio Romano).
Regardless of whether the European juggernaut were interested in signing Cancelo or not, it has seemed inevitable for a while that he would leave Manchester City in the summer.
During City’s pre-season tour is the last time it seemed viable for the club to have Cancelo as a part of their plans as his future was uncertain at the time.
But it seems like Barcelona are hoping to sign Joao Cancelo permanently, as per Jorge Mendes, which makes his exit from Manchester City imminent.
The former Juventus full-back has certainly grabbed his opportunity to exhibit his talent in Spain with both hands.
