Jorginho has named Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne as the best player in his position in the world right now.

After joining Arsenal from Chelsea back in the previous January transfer window, the midfielder has faced off against Pep Guardiola’s side twice.

The first saw him complete the full 90 minutes in the Gunners’ 3-1 defeat to City at the Emirates, followed by a 30-minute cameo in the more recent 4-1 loss at the Etihad.

Now though, the 31-year-old has made a comment about one City player, in particular, who played a significant part in both of the Manchester club’s league victories over Mikel Arteta’s side.

In a recent online Q&A, shared on Twitter by The Residency, the Arsenal figure was asked who he feels is the best midfielder in the Premier League.

In response, the Italian said this on the matter.

He said: “At the moment Kevin De Bruyne.”

Having joined City back in 2015 in a deal worth £54m, the Belgian has gone on to make 351 appearances for the club across all competitions prior to Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second-leg clash against Real Madrid.

During that time, the 31-year-old has scored 96 goals and provided 148 assists, winning numerous trophies along the way.

This season has seen De Bruyne find the net 10 times and provide 27 assists in 44 appearances this season in all competitions, as well as having more goal-creating actions (31) than any other player in the Premier League.

This shows why Jorginho thinks the City star is the best midfielder in the top flight, which is something that many supporters of the Manchester club will surely agree with.
