Journalist claims what is 'incredibly rare' about Kevin De Bruyne contract agreement with Manchester City

Manchester City fans are rejoicing today, with Kevin De Bruyne having finally signed a new contract after months of speculation.

The midfielder has agreed fresh terms at the Etihad, and will now be at the club until the summer of 2025.

The Belgian superstar’s new deal is extremely well deserved given the incredible contributions he has made over the past few years.

Last season’s PFA Player of the Year has helped the club win two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four EFL Cups so far, and there’s a good chance his trophy haul will further increase come the end of the season.

Speaking about his new contract, De Bruyne said (via mancity.com): “Signing this contract was a straightforward decision.

“This football club is geared for success. It offers me everything I need to maximise my performance.”

It is a great day for all City fans.

And journalist Fabrizio Romano has made a claim regarding De Bruyne that will make the day even better for a lot of Citizens.

He said on Twitter: “Kevin de Bruyne has negotiated his new Manchester City contract *without* any agent involved. It’s something very rare, maybe incredible in today’s football.”

De Bruyne clearly extremely happy

It is definitely surprising to learn that the contract was De Bruyne’s doing and that there was no agent influence.

That would suggest how much the player really cares about playing for this club.

He will obviously be extremely well-paid, which is deserved of course.

It’s just very surprising that a player of KDB’s stature as being one of the very best players in the game would sort things him out himself, and his humble ways will no doubt go down a treat with supporters.
