Real Madrid remain one of, if not the most attractive destination for any player in world football to join currently.
The decision-makers at Manchester City will be glad that barring Brahim Diaz, none of their players have headed to Los Blancos.
Especially their key players, with David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva to name a few all choosing to spend the peaks of their careers at the Etihad Stadium.
However, Carlo Ancelotti’s side continue to pose a threat to any club in the transfer market.
Real Madrid’s dominance in the Champions League is one incredible draw for any player to sign for them — winning the competition twice in the last three seasons.
Furthermore, the addition of Kylian Mbappe this summer has ensured that no club in Europe has a more frightening team than them.

However, Pep Guardiola’s men perhaps pose the biggest challenge to them in European football.
In addition, the draw of playing in the most-watched division in the world in the Premier League must also be a factor that motivates City’s main men to stay at the club.
Working under Guardiola, being favourites for the title amongst multiple other trophies every season and playing a stunning brand of football must also drive their players to continue succeeding in a sky blue shirt.
Even so, Los Merengues have been successful in poaching superstars from top clubs such as Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain this year, Luis Figo from Barcelona in 2000 and Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in 2009.
Journalist Duncan Castles has claimed that not only does Florentino Perez wish to sign Rodri but the player is keen on potentially signing for Real Madrid next year.
Castles said on The Transfers Podcast: “Florentino Perez has instructed Real Madrid’s recruitment staff to do everything possible to bring Rodri to the club, probably in the next summer’s transfer window, it will be a target.”
“He is aware that Rodri has three years left on his contract at Manchester City and Manchester City want to improve that contract to make him one of the best-paid players at the club in line with his performances at the club.”
“And also, Manchester City are aware of Madrid’s interest in taking the player.”
The journalist added: “As I am told about this, I think Rodri is interested in this. There have also been approaches from Barcelona, which are far realistic for the reasons we all know in this podcast and Barcelona’s financial situation.”
“But moving to Real Madrid, the most successful team in Europe, I think still the favourites for the Champions League this season, opportunity to finish his career in Spain, I think will be taken seriously.”
“And obviously ramps up the pressure and places him in an excellent position to maximise the contract offer he receives, not just from Manchester City but also the one that will come from Real Madrid.”

Rodri has no reason to leave Manchester City
Considering Manchester City are the biggest powerhouse in European football alongside Real Madrid, the £220,000-a-week man has no reason to depart the Etihad Stadium for a return to his homeland.
If City were not as successful as they have been over the past few years, a stronger case could be made.
For instance, when Thibaut Courtois joined Real Madrid after Chelsea finished fifth in the league during his final season at the club.
But seeing how influential Rodri is to a City side that have won league titles in a row as well as a treble amongst other trophies, there is no evidence to suggest that their success will dwindle away.
The Spanish international would also be interested in working with Pep Guardiola if he extends his contract beyond 2025.
While some would argue that Pep Guardiola’s current deal expires in 2025 — a factor that could lead the midfield maestro to be tempted to a move to Spain, Ancelotti’s contract does so at as well in 2026.
As a result, the draw of leaving Manchester City in favour of a move to Real Madrid should not appeal to Rodri as much in practice.
