Manchester City have been involved in numerous deals throughout the current summer transfer window.
In addition to selling the likes of Liam Delap, Sergio Gomez, Tommy Doyle and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, City have also managed to secure a contract extension for Stefan Ortega.
Also, several members of Pep Guardiola’s current squad have been linked with moves away from the Etihad Stadium this summer.
In fact, some behind-the-scenes information has now come to light regarding one particular player who has been heavily linked with a move away from the Citizens recently.

Journalist says Saudi Arabian club have left negotiations to sign Ederson from Man City
In a recent post shared on his official X account, journalist Rudy Galetti had this to say on the situation.
He said: “#AlIttihad decided to withdraw from the negotiation with #ManCity for #Ederson, confirmed.
The [Saudi Arabian] club – in its research for a new goalkeeper – also included #Areola on the list, together with other names.”
Good news for City
This isn’t the first time a club from the Saudi Pro League has been in contact with City to try and sign Ederson but ended up walking away from a potential deal, as Al Nassr did the same thing earlier in the window reportedly due to City’s high valuation of the shot-stopper (via Fabrizio Romano’s X account).
As the Manchester club’s first-choice goalkeeper, it will definitely be good news for everyone connected to the club that Al Ittihad have abandoned their attempts to land a deal for Ederson, who City paid £35m to sign back in 2017.
Moving forward, with two Saudi clubs now baulking at the prospect of paying the sort of fee City want for the 30-year-old, hopefully this will be the last time a club attempts to take Ederson away from the Blues.
