Ilkay Gundogan will be making a decision very soon about his future.

The midfielder’s current contract at Manchester City is about to expire, and fans are desperate to know what he is going to do.

Gundogan had yet another brilliant season with City.

He played a crucial role in helping to win the Treble, and the 32-year-old understandably has a lot of interest in him since he is set to become a free agent.

Barcelona are thought to be the star’s most likely next destination.

But just recently it has been claimed that Gundogan is yet another player who is wanted to play in Saudi Arabia.

Journalist shares the salary offer Ilkay Gundogan has received from Saudi

Over the past few weeks, more and more players have been getting linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Karim Benzema kicked things off this summer, and N’Golo Kante has now followed his compatriot to the Middle East. And Ruben Neves should be next.

The common denominator with these players moving to Saudi is that they have been offered absolutely eye-watering contracts.

And Gundogan could potentially get a slice of the cake.

According to journalist Achraf Ben Ayad, who has a huge Twitter following of 3.5 million – there is an offer on the table from Saudi for Gundogan. And it’s worth a whopping €35 million annually.

That is the equivalent of £577,000-a-week.

Ilkay Gundogan’s resolve will certainly be tested by huge Saudi offer

If true, then this is an astronomical offer from Saudi.

It must be extremely difficult to say no to such an amount, especially since Gundogan is now 32 years old.

He’s won everything in England and few would really blame him if he went to Saudi at this stage of his career.

But respect for him would go through the roof if the star – recently hailed as ‘outstanding’ by Sam Allardyce – made a move to another club in Europe out of a desire to still compete.

And if he extended with City after all that has been written, then that would be absolutely amazing.
