Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has shared what number Jeremy Doku will be wearing at Manchester City once his transfer is made official.

Having been linked with the Rennes winger over the past few weeks, it was reported earlier this week that the Citizens have agreed a £55m deal to sign the Belgian.

Now, some fresh behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding the 21-year-old’s move to the Etihad Stadium.

In a recent Twitter post, Tavolieri had this to say on the matter.

He said: EXCL. Jeremy Doku will wear the number [11] with #ManchesterCity. Private plane scheduled later in the afternoon. #MCFC.”

Since arriving at the French club back in 2020, the 21-year-old has worn numerous numbers on his shirt, including 18, 14, 11 and his current number 10.

In terms of what he’s done on the pitch for Rennes, Doku has scored 12 goals and delivered 10 assists in 92 appearances in all competitions.

Last season saw the attacker score six goals and deliver two assists in 29 Ligue 1 games, 13 of which he started.

With Riyad Mahrez having left the club for a move to Al Ahli earlier in the summer, in addition to Cole Palmer’s future being up in the air, it’s easy to see why the treble winners have looked to secure a move for the Belgium international.

Now that his new shirt number has been shared and with a medical reportedly set to be taking place later today, it seems likely that this will be City’s latest incoming transfer of the summer following the arrivals of Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol.
