Fabrizio Romano on how Diego Simeone has lured Julian Alvarez to join Atletico Madrid from Man City
Following the news of Alvarez’s proposed move to Atletico, Fabrizio Romano shared a post on his official X account containing some details about the deal and the role Diego Simeone has played in it.
He said: “Understand Atletico Madrid are planning for Julian Alvarez to take private flight on Sunday!
“Medical tests are booked for Monday, then he will sign five year deal at Atleti with his agent Fernando Hidalgo.
“Diego Simeone, already in direct contact with Julian.”
Alvarez will be a star player for Atletico
With Romano now revealing that Simeone has been in direct contact with his fellow Argentine over a move to Spain, this highlights how eager he has been to have the 24-year-old in his Atletico squad.
From City’s point of view, the fact that they could be about to make such a significant profit on Alvarez makes up for the fact that they will be losing a very capable and versatile attacking talent.
In our view, based on what he’s done over the past two seasons in a City shirt, Alvarez will go on to be a start player for Simeone and Atletico.
