Jack Gaughan has now revealed how Manchester City staff initially reacted when the Premier League charged the club with 115 breaches of financial regulations.
The journalist shared the information in a Q&A for the Daily Mail.
So, what was said about Manchester City? Let’s take a look…
How Manchester City staff reacted to the Premier League charges
Well, Gaughan claims that there was initially a bit of panic inside the offices at Manchester City, with some employees even seeking assurances over their jobs with Chief Executive Ferran Soriano.

Manchester City’s correspondent for the Daily Mail wrote: “The general mood around City is quite calm now.
“The week during which they were charged was fraught in the offices, and people needed reassuring of their jobs through conversations with line managers down from Chief Executive Ferran Soriano.
“That subsided fairly quickly and it’s just a waiting game. Employees are told that the club are robustly defending their corner and, given what happened at CAS following the UEFA judgement, they seem confident that they will do just that.”
When Manchester City hearing is expected to take place
As Gaughan states, it is currently a waiting game – although a date has allegedly been set.
The Daily Mail believe Manchester City’s hearing will begin in Autumn 2024 as the club continue to protest their innocence behind the scenes.

Interestingly, Darragh MacAnthony – Chairman of Peterborough – believes Manchester City will win the case, pointing to the club’s superb record of academy sales across recent years.
The Irishman said on The Hard Truth podcast: “In defence of Man City, they have sold academy players for the last six or seven years (for big fees). They have raised millions through selling players. You look at the players who have come through that academy, even though they didn’t make (much) money on Sancho when he went to Germany, they got the sell on (clause).
“Cole Palmer to Chelsea too. So, as much as everyone is coming for Man City, Man City are not mugs, and I would imagine they’re going to win that (case).”
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as further developments could take place.
