Julio Enciso has claimed that his agent did not tell him about Manchester City’s reported interest in the Brighton & Hove Albion star.
Earlier this month, it was claimed in a report from The Mirror that Pep Guardiola has an interest in the 19-year-old and could look to make a future transfer move for him.
In a recent interview with Tigo Sports (via Roberto Rojas), Enciso had this to say when asked about the rumours linking him with a move to the Etihad Stadium.
He said: “My agent didn’t tell me anything about that. The same thing happened when I moved to Brighton.
“I think if it’s going to happen, it will & if not then I need to continue to work hard. It gives me a lot of motivation to have teams show interest.”

Enciso’s sparkling debut season
Brighton signed the teenager back in the previous summer transfer window from Libertad Asuncion for a reported fee of £9.5m.
Across his debut Premier League campaign, the Paraguayan scored four goals and provided two assists in 20 appearances.
In fact, his final goal of the campaign came during Brighton’s 1-1 draw against City in their penultimate fixture of the season, ultimately securing European football for the south coast club next season.
That goal also ended up winning the Match of the Day Goal of the Season award.
Speaking after the 1-1 draw with City, Seagulls boss Roberto De Zerbi suggested that Enciso has the capability to improve his game if he stays at Brighton.
In terms of the apparent interest in him from the Manchester club, it’s strange to hear that the attacker’s agent didn’t make him aware of it.
Moving forward, with Brighton having a track record of selling some of their top players, if their teenage sensation continues to improve and impress on the pitch, it seems likely that the interest in him will grow.
