Fabrizio Romano: Manchester City waiting for Aymeric Laporte to confirm if he wants Al-Nassr transfer

Branded as ‘world-class’ by Steph Houghton, the 29-year-old remains on the periphery of things at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite John Stones and Ruben Dias being unavailable for contention against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup, the Spanish international still found himself tuning into proceedings from the bench.

Now, it has been revealed that Manchester City ‘keep waiting’ for Aymeric Laporte to decide if he has now decided to join Al-Nassr after accepting their bid.

The negotiations to sign for the Saudi Pro League side are continuing from the treble-winner’s side, with his biggest suitors also waiting for his final decision.

If Aymeric Laporte is waiting for offers in Europe, his hesitancy is understandable

While Aymeric Laporte may have been tempted to play his football for Al-Nassr, there may be well be a doubt in his mind about leaving Europe after his exit from Manchester City is confirmed.

Being one of the best defenders in the world and in his prime years, the five-time Premier League winner still has plenty of football left in him.

As a result, one would not be surprised if the decorated centre-back is awaiting offers from top European clubs as he is certainly capable of playing for them.

The decision to depart Europe is a major one, especially for a player of his calibre.
