Manchester City are keen to sign Jamal Musiala and are monitoring the Bayern Munich No.42’s situation.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano.

So, what was said about Manchester City and Jamal Musiala? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, it was The Secret Scout who first revealed that Manchester City want to sign the Germany international as a long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.

Now, Romano has added further information.

Speaking on YouTube, the reliable Italian journalist said: “At the moment Jamal Musiala’s contract expires in 2026, and there is still no agreement with Bayern to extend the contract. Why? Because the discussion was with the old management of Bayern, then the management changed and it’s still changing.

“For Bayern, it is an absolute priority. They know that other clubs will be in the race, we’ve had reports of Liverpool, but trust me, it’s not just Liverpool, many important clubs around Europe are keeping eyes on Musiala. Clubs in Spain, in England, not just Liverpool… people at Manchester City and Chelsea have been keeping an eye on Musiala as he’s one of the best talents in the world.”

Manchester City should be on red alert with Jamal Musiala

The opportunity to sign a talent like Musiala rarely arises – therefore, Manchester City have to be keeping a very close eye on developments at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich will not want to find themselves in a situation where the 20-year-old only has 24 months remaining on his contract, so a contract renewal will surely be their priority behind the scenes for the duration of the current campaign.

However – according to BILD – Musiala is not 100% pleased with his status under Thomas Tuchel, as he wants to be exempt from rotation and one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Therefore, discussions over a new contract may not be that simple – Manchester City must pay close attention to this situation…
