Kevin De Bruyne personally supported Manchester City’s decision to sign Jeremy Doku back in August.
That is according to the Telegraph.
So, what was said about Jeremy Doku and Kevin De Bruyne? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the 21-year-old and the Manchester City No.17 are both Belgium internationals.
Therefore, De Bruyne knows all about Doku, and was presumably asked for his thoughts on the winger by Txiki Begiristain before Manchester City struck a £55.5m agreement with Rennes.
Whether De Bruyne was asked, or offered his thoughts on his own accord, the Telegraph state that Manchester City carried out the signing with the 32-year-old’s backing.

Doku has previously made four appearances alongside the £400,000-a-week Manchester City maestro on the international scene, including clashes at EURO 2020 and also the 2022 World Cup.
The pair have combined for one goal in those four outings, with Belgium winning two and drawing one.
De Bruyne could make Doku even better at Manchester City
Doku has enjoyed a blistering start to life at the Etihad Stadium – leaving Rodri shocked – but the Manchester City No.11 could get even better when his fellow countryman returns from injury.
As aforesaid, De Bruyne knows all about the £50,000-a-week winger, having spent time away with him on international duty, so he should know his game inside and out.

De Bruyne has a remarkable knack of providing for his teammates regardless of any previous chemistry being built up between them, so his connection with Doku should really stand out when the pair are finally able to play together.
When that moment comes, it should be a mouthwatering prospect.
Just imagine the prospect of Doku making countless runs in behind for De Bruyne to pick out – it is truly the stuff of nightmares for opposition defenders, to say the least.
