Kevin De Bruyne has hailed Sergio Aguero as the best all-round striker he has ever played with.

The Manchester City maestro sat down recently to film a video with the club where he had to guess which players had assisted him for goals he’s scored.

The club played various clips to him, covering the player who made the final pass to him before he scored.

De Bruyne is the assist king at City, of course.

But he never forgets who assisted him, getting all 10 answers correct.

At one point, they show him the goal he scored against Newcastle United. That game from the 2015/16 season finished 6-1 to City.

It is a game few City fans will ever forget, as it saw Aguero score five goals in one of the most lethal displays of finishing ever seen in the Premier League.

On Aguero, KDB was asked if he realised he was in the company of a great when he first signed with the club.

He replied: “Yeah. Honestly, Kun is probably the best all-round striker I’ve played with. Just everything. He had speed, power, could go deep, could go short, left or right, headers… he was unbelievable. So, so good.”

Aguero is City’s all-time top goalscorer with 260.

He is widely regarded as one of the best strikers and players to ever grace the Premier League.

Towards the end of the video, it was pointed out to KDB that Aguero’s assist to him against West Ham United on the Belgian’s debut was the only one he ever made to him.

The 31-year-old laughed, before stating he didn’t mind.

Sergio Aguero was one of the most complete strikers football has ever seen – no wonder Kevin De Bruyne raves about him

Aguero must have been an absolute joy to play with, especially for someone like De Bruyne.

He wasn’t just about goalscoring – something he was obviously incredible at.

He had it all, as De Bruyne says. He could link play brilliantly, and also had the technical qualities to make him useful between the lines. He’d run the channels, too.

Obviously, current City striker Erling Haaland is an absolutely sensational striker.

But if there’s any way for the Norwegian to get even better, it’s probably by studying old clips of Aguero.

If he did that, and given how he is he probably will, then he will become a truly frightening player in a few years.
