Kyle Walker pulled no punches after Man City suffered a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
Off the back of their emphatic 3-1 win against Arsenal, it seemed as if the Sky Blues were set to put together a typical never-ending winning streak until the end of the season. And going by their largely superb showing, 3 points seemed inevitable.
However, Man City simply could not finish their dinner, missing a boatload of chances against Nottingham Forest, which frustrated the visitors as well as Kyle Walker.
Kyle Walker on Man City draw against Nottingham Forest
The frustrating aspect about City’s draw is that they were excellent on the day, with Phil Foden especially looking sublime from the first whistle but things went awry, after Bernardo Silva’s screamer was cancelled out by Chris Wood.
After Man City were restricted to a draw against Nottingham Forest, Kyle Walker said, as quoted by MEN, “We know it’s unacceptable and we have to move on from that. We have to give Forest credit, they dug in and full credit to them but from a [Man] City point of view we need to do better.”
“We missed a few chances and we need to do better as a team. Sometimes it’s football and sometimes it’s emotion. Every game should be treated the same – like a cup final. We have to stick together as a group.”
Man City cannot afford to drop any more points
Considering Arsenal dug deep to beat Aston Villa 4-2 late into the contest, they now have a 2-point gap over their title rivals, and that too, with a game in hand.
Keeping that in mind, Man City must carry on the quality of their performance against Forest but minus the woeful finishing and weak defending for the equaliser, as Kyle Walker and his teammates may miss out on the chance to complete a three-peat.
Considering Pep Guardiola admitted that their titles hopes would have been ‘over’ if they lost to Arsenal, their latest result is a disaster.
