Kyle Walker has named Pep Guardiola as his dream dinner guest, alongside big-names like Arsenal legend Ian Wright and actor Eddie Murphy, as per England’s official website.
Walker elaborates
Despite working alongside the Catalan tactician for five years, the 32-year old has discussed why he would like to have dinner with the Manchester City manager.
“He [Pep Guardiola] does laugh and he does like to have a joke but I’d like to open him up with a glass of wine and see what he’s like behind the closed doors.”
Walker continued, “When we [Manchester City] win things, he’s one of the happiest men in the world. You can see that on some of the videos.”
“But he’s very dedicated to his job and he takes every training session, every game like it is the last. I think that’s why he’s achieved what he’s achieved in the game of football.
Guardiola and winning: A match made in heaven
Since taking over the job as Barcelona boss in 2008, the Spaniard has gone on to become one of the most decorated managers in the history of the game.
And after dominating proceedings at both his boyhood club as well as at Bayern Munich, Guardiola has managed to make a mockery of English football.
After former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, the 51-year old has won the most number of Premier League titles (4) in the division’s history.
Despite winning 4 of the last 5 league titles, Guardiola was in tears after City beat Aston Villa to become the champions of England, which exemplifies his undying hunger to win.
As a result, Kyle Walker considers Pep Guardiola as an ideal dinner guest, as he perhaps wishes to see a side of his manager when he takes a break off the training ground for once.
