Kyle Walker has said that one of his Manchester City teammates does something unusual outside of the club.

The 34-year-old has been at the Manchester club since 2017 and has played alongside a wide variety of players during his time with the Blues.

Having played in 301 games for City, Walker has shared the pitch with 64 players in total.

Now though, the full-back has shared some behind-the-scenes details on what one of his current City teammates is like when the players are away from work duties.

Walker says Bernardo Silva does something not all City players do away from the pitch

Speaking in the first episode of his new podcast – You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker – the Englishman had this to say on the topic of how some players settle in at certain clubs and how others can get unsettled by external factors.

He said: “The foreign lads, especially at City, come over to here in Manchester and have a better time than the English lads here.

“There’s been, on team occasions where we’ve gone for dinner and all the lads are scampering off in their cars going home and Bernardo Silva is walking through Manchester saying I’m going home, I’m walking home.

“What are you doing walking home? ‘I live down there so I’m just going to walk home.’ But he doesn’t get stopped, he’s a massive name.

“In Portugal, he probably couldn’t walk anywhere, but here he just walks and goes home. He’s just taking a stroll through Manchester.”

Silva must be comfortable in Manchester

City signed Silva for £43m from Monaco back in the 2017 summer transfer window, the same window they signed Walker from Tottenham Hotspur for £50m.

Since then, the £300k-a-week midfielder has gone on to make 355 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side across all competitions, scoring 66 goals and delivering 66 assists in the process, winning the same trophies Walker has.

In fact, the right-back has featured in more games with Silva (258) than he has with any other City player he’s played with since his arrival.

While the Portuguese international may live nearby to where the players were having their meal out in the anecdote Walker shared in his podcast, the fact that he still chose to walk through Manchester rather than get a car back shows how comfortable he is in the city and getting his way around it.
