Having spent nearly a decade at Manchester City, Kyle Walker must know his current and former teammates at the Etihad Stadium inside and out.
Considering the Englishman was deemed to command the respect in the dressing room to captain Manchester City before his departure to AC Milan on loan is suggestive of how well he gets on with his teammates.
Pep Guardiola tends to prioritise having good eggs in the dressing room in any case and to win the amount of silverware they have over the years suggests every player was a brilliant character.
From Kevin De Bruyne currently to Riyad Mahrez in the past, City have had no shortage of serial winners in their squad.
But Walker has now had his say on Mahrez and what his personality was like behind closed doors.

Kyle Walker says Riyad Mahrez isn’t as “miserable” as he seems
Kyle Walker revealed that Mahrez’s reputation suggests that he is viewed as being “miserable.”
However, Walker believes that once one gets to know Mahrez, he is an affable person to be around.
The 34-year-old said on The Kyle Walker Podcast: “Riyad is like, everyone thinks like Riyad is just like, doesn’t say anything, quiet, quite like, miserable or whatever, but then he’s the complete opposite.”
“Well, once you know him and he knows you and he’s confident and comfortable around you.”
“Ruthless is the word. Yeah. It’s like, he’ll just strip you right down, Mahrez.”
Kyle Walker and Mahrez’s record together at Man City
Pep Guardiola loved Mahrez and the fact that the Algerian played 236 games under the Catalan speaks volumes of how much respect he commanded from the Manchester City boss.
Mahrez revealed Guardiola wished to keep him before his move to Al-Ahli in 2023 as well.
Speaking of Mahrez, here is his record with Walker at Manchester City.
| RIYAD MAHREZ AND KYLE WALKER’S RECORD AT MAN CITY | |
| APPEARANCES TOGETHER | 154 |
| WINS | 112 |
| DRAWS | 15 |
| LOSSES | 27 |
| JOINT-GOAL PARTICIPATION | 2 |
Mahrez and Walker played 154 games in tandem at the Etihad Stadium, winning 112, drawing 15 and losing just 27 while being involved in two goals together.
No wonder the former Tottenham Hotspur right-back knows the £60 million (Sky Sports) man as well as he does.
