Manchester City have signed a lot of players during Pep Guardiola’s tenure at the club.
In fact, a significant number of those players have arrived at the Etihad Stadium from various clubs across the Premier League.
Now though, one particular figure City have landed from one of their top-flight colleagues has shared some behind-the-scenes details on how his move to the Manchester club came about.

Kyle Walker shares details on Man City transfer move
When asked in a recent edition of You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker about the details of his transfer move from Tottenham Hotspur to City, the right-back had this to say in response.
He said: “I spoke with Pep over the summer. He said that he definitely wants me to be part of the team next year.
“I had a meeting with his brother, had a coffee with him. He relayed the message of what Pep wanted and definitely wanted me in the team.
“And then, it was down to the clubs. Daniel Levy didn’t want me to go, wanted me to go, wanted me to go abroad, then wanted me to go to Chelsea, because I knew that the fans had probably turned on me then.
“But my heart was just set on City being under, especially Pep. I could see the players that they were signing and the organisation that they got.
“I thought that this is a team that I want to be a part of. So I drove up to Manchester. Someone met me at the hotel, just off Deansgate. And then they said that, listen, there’ll be a car here in the morning, eight o’clock.
“Thinking, okay, back to Tottenham days, you know, it’s just going to be me and the doc. There was a full camera crew. And I’m just sat there in this car. And they’re just asking me questions, after questions after questions.
“And I wanted to actually enjoy the moment. It was overwhelming. I’m going to the coffee machine and I’m thinking it’s a new coffee machine. I don’t know how to press that. Am I going to look an idiot here? And it was a little bit overwhelming.”
Walker has proved to be a top signing for City
Having made his £50m move to City back in 2017, the Englishman has gone on to make 301 appearances for the Manchester club across all competitions.
With six goals and 23 assists under his belt, Walker has won six Premier League trophies with the Blues in addition to numerous other domestic and European titles.
In fact, Ashley Young dubbed Walker one of the best full-backs in Premier League history.
Now that the 34-year-old has shared these details on how his move to City came about, it’s safe to say that Guardiola was right to convince Walker about how much he wanted to have him in his team.
